Friday, 19 April 2019 at St John’s Uniting Church Mount Waverley – an annual event of the Waverley/Chadstone Inter-Church Council.

Nearly three hundred people gathered to walk the Way of the Cross. Thirteen local congregations participated, walking the streets of Mt Waverley together, singing the songs of Easter and praying and reflecting at each Station. The beautiful banners featuring the work of local artist Paul Gahan, marked each Station and depicted the stages of Jesus’ walk to his death on the Cross and his burial in the tomb. We pondered the next three days of darkness and looked forward with joyful anticipation to Easter Day and the Resurrection. Afterwards we shared hot cross buns together. It was a wonderfully ecumenical and multicultural day.
